The Primary Health Care Sciences Group Oxford University demonstrated that self-monitoring with a Wellpoint resulted in population-level reductions in blood pressure. Even small reductions in the population results meant an overall reduction in cardiovascular risk.

Uptake of the Wellpoint kiosk was high - over 2600 people registered to use the machines over the two-month pilot period. No users were restricted from using the Wellpoint kiosks - data captured at the time of use shows that it appealed to both those in and outside of the target age group – exceeding pre-pilot expectations.
